In the years 2006-2008 MUG Rector’s Proxy for the New University Hospital Programme; 1996-2000 Secretary of the Executive Board of Polish Association of Paediatric Surgeons (Polish abbr. PTChD), 2000-2003 General Secretary of PTChD, 2003-2009 head of PTChD branch of Gdańsk, since 2009 President Elect of PTChD, since 2012 President of PTChD; since 2009 representative of Poland and member of the Board of the Section of Paediatric Surgery of the Union of European Medical Specialists (UEMS), since 2011 secretary of the said Section, Voivodship (Province) Consultant for Paediatric Surgery of the Pomeranian Voivodship (Province).
Prof. Czauderna has done numerous internships at foreign clinics of paediatric surgery, inter alia in: 1991 - Baylor College of Medicine (Houston, USA), UCLA School of Medicine (Los Angeles, USA), John Hopkins Medical School (Baltimore, USA) and Stanford University (USA), 1992 – internship at Medizinische Hochschule of Hannover, 1996 – internship at the Clinic of Orthopaedy of the Academic Clinical Hospital (German abbr. AKH) of Wien, 1999 – internship at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children of Edinburgh and the Paediatric Surgery Clinic of HELIOS Hospital in Berlin.
In 2002 Prof. Czauderna was granted the European „Board” specialisation in paediatric surgery. His scientific interests include the application of low-invasive methods in paediatric surgery and paediatric oncology, hepatic tumours in particular. In the years 2006 - 2012 he was the Chairman of the International Childhood Liver Tumours Strategy Group – SIOPEL; in addition, he is the national coordinator of the Polish Research Programme for Childhood Liver Tumour Treatment. Prof. Czauderna is the author and co-author of over 200 original, case-study and review papers as well as conference reports published in peer-reviewed national and foreign journals, including most prestigious ones, such as "New England Journal of Medicine", "Journal of Clinical Oncology" or "Cancer" on, inter alia, "Cisplatin versus cisplatin plus doxorubicin for standard-risk hepatoblastoma", "Hepatocellular carcinoma in children - results of the first prospective trial of the International Society of Pediatric Oncology (SIOP)", "Venoocclusive liver disease (VOD) as a complication of Wilms' tumour management in the series of 206 patients".
He also sits on the editorial committees and is a reviewer of many national and foreign scientific journals.
Since the very inception of the project, Prof. Czauderna has been the medical consultant of the Sanitas Speclalist Medical Centre. At the Centre he performs paediatric surgery procedures.
